On July 28th 2024 the Gibbons Museum held a 'Wedding Dresses Through the Decades' event that brought the local community together to appreciate an array of wedding dresses brought in by the people of Gibbons. The oldest of these dresses was loaned by the Thorhild Museum, an intricately embroidered gown originally worn by Katherine (Luptsun) Iwaskow as she married Steve Iwaskow in 1913. The gown was originally worn with elbow-length gloves and decorated with live greenery. All items are available for viewing in the Ukrainian Celebration display in the museum.
